Fish is all that’s left to count off
A couple of snakeheads and some cod
Spilled salt keeps the cynic happy
Anyone care to applaud?

Nothing will come from nothing at all
And sure as hell not something good
But there’s something to be said about who’s to go last
And the thing to be said is “Not me!”

So calm down, it’s over
There’s nothing to be done
It’s one last october
One last day in the sun

And there’s nothing to research and nothing to see,
because nothing will outsmart the smart pioneers our kind came to be

Life is sacred, life has meaning
What’s at the end of that road?
Killer robots, Dragon armies
Remember the last time it snowed?

Well, wisdom was something for the kings to keep secret
‘till someone deciphered their books
Now there's a pile of gold bones where the lake used to sit
And the ghosts of the lake sell your memories

So calm down, it’s over
It’s just you and me
There might be someone in the clover
But I really can’t see

And it shouldn’t have said there’s nothing to be done,
when it should have said, what we do from here on can’t outdo all we have done wrong
